How to Apply

We look for students who have challenged themselves with the most rigorous curriculum available at their high school. The middle 50% of admitted students have a GPA between 3.5 and 4.0.

Grand Lakes University is test-optional through Fall 2027. You may submit SAT or ACT scores if you feel they strengthen your application, but they are not required and will not disadvantage applicants who choose not to submit.

We require the Common App personal statement and two GLU-specific short answer responses. We're looking for authentic voice and genuine reflection — not a polished performance.

Submit two letters from teachers (at least one from a core academic subject) and one from your school counselor. Letters from coaches, employers, or community mentors may be submitted as additional materials.

We value depth over breadth. A student who has shown sustained commitment and leadership in a few activities is more compelling than one who lists dozens with minimal involvement.
